Another Evening on Poldhu
Poldhu again. The tide was beginning to come in forming pools around the rocks - and the fading light was reflecting in the wet sand.

Poldhu, Mullion, Cornwall
I love all the coves on the Lizard peninsular, having known them for most of my life. The ones around Mullion in particular hold special memories for me. Here are a couple of much more recent paintings of Poldhu. It was a warm evening - the tide was out, the light starting to fade - and nothing to disturb the peace save for the odd gull and the distant lapping of the waves. Perfect!

Penrose walk, Helston
I mentioned Loe Bar in an earlier post. Between it and Helston town lies the Penrose Estate - a beautiful wooded parkland now administered by the National Trust. It surrounds Cornwall's largest natural freshwater lake - Loe Pool.
It's a lovely route to take when walking from Helston to the coast at Porthleven - and a wonderful place to explore in its own right.
The painting was inspired by some photos I took walking back home one bright January afternoon.
